Where GGS started

GGS has been in business for over sixteen years and innovation has been at the heart of everything we have done. In those early days, Simon Talbot worked on a research project with the University of Manchester and Intelysis to develop the GasClam® which became a catalyst for establishing GGS.

Since then, GGS has been continually innovating. In 2011, GGS recruited Joao Marcos Dyer who has developed his career and worked on lots of projects as an Associate Director of Operations.

New beginnings at GGS

Simon Talbot is retiring this month after many years of incredible achievements and work at GGS. Though he will still consult on some projects, he is passing the role of Managing Director to João Dyer who will continue to lead the company’s service excellence, and innovation at GGS.

This week we asked both Simon and João how they feel about the changes here at GGS as they step into their new roles in the business.

Simon

“As the founder of GGS, I am very proud to have built up a specialist company which is recognised across the contaminated land sector in the UK and further afield.

However, the company’s success is mainly due to the commitment and dedication of its talented staff. I am delighted to be passing the reins to Joao who, I have no doubt, will lead the company to greater success in the future.”

João

“It’s an incredible honour to step into the role of Managing Director, following in the footsteps of our founder whose vision and courage 16 years ago brought a new technology to life, one that is now firmly established in our industry. I’m deeply grateful for the trust placed in me and excited to lead our next chapter, building on the legacy of innovation, integrity and quality that started it all.

A sincere thank you to Simon, not only for founding GGS, but for the unwavering commitment, leadership, and inspiration that have shaped who we are today. You have instilled in GGS a lasting belief in our values which will continue to inspire us every day.”

The future of GGS

We look forward to seeing how João contributes further to the continuing success of GGS. Under his leadership we are certain that innovation will continue and GGS can keep growing. To learn more about our team at GGS head to our about us page.

What is the GO AQS initiative?

At GGS we aim to be at the forefront of conversations when it comes to all areas of ground gas science, including the indoor air quality environment.

Recognizing that soil gases can and do contribute to internal air quality, we are pleased to be involved in the GO AQS initiative.
