GGS were commissioned to prepare a verification plan and conduct independent verification in line with Ciria C735 for a new supermarket on behalf of a main contractor.
A verification plan was written for the development taking into account the gas regime, building sensitivity, design complexity and competency of the gas protection installers. It was a low risk site and a non-skilled workforce was employed to install the gas protection system.
Independent inspections were carried out at from the start to guage installation quality. It was clear that the site operatives had no training and were largely at a loss as to what to do. GGS provided advice on expected standards and worked with the installation team to significantly improve standards.
