2024 has been an exciting year for GGS for a number of reasons. With a range of successful projects with clients and new research into innovation such as our atmospheric pressure whitepaper, and record attendance at our webinars. There is lots to celebrate as we wind down into the festive season.
The team at GGS are what make our business. Our professional team of environmental scientists and other professionals help GGS thrive and so we wanted to ask them what their highlights have been this year. Keep on reading to learn what they said.
Andrew’s shared that he has really enjoyed working with team and sharing knowledge, and seeing junior members of staff in particular, progress and grow in the company. A key moment for him this year was also working on the atmospheric pressure whitepaper which received some great industry feedback.
Dan is one of our environmental scientists and has enjoyed trying out new tools this year and learning through the process. One such tool is the AirThings sensors, stay tuned for more updates about how GGS and AirThings are working together.
Matthew Trowell works in our Stevenage office and has been an integral part of lots of different projects this year. He enjoyed learning and mentorship from senior members and about the behavior of radon.
Freddy joined us just six months ago but has already done lots of great work for our Scotland office. A highlight for him this year was working on a pro-bono project for a client which you can learn more about here.
Also, an integral part of our Scotland team, Megan has a very varied year working on lots of different projects. One of her favorite moments from this year was heading to the Isle of Skye for a change of scenery as well as learning key skills in project management.
Emily has worked with GGS for a number of years and this year she is celebrating new challenging projects that have presented new opportunities for building conceptual site models, for example buy looking at maps of historical landfill sites and building visuals to support technical reporting. This has taught Emily new skills which she hopes to apply at GGS moving forwards.
Matthew has worked on lots of exciting projects this year at GGS including one project that needed subfloor void monitoring, sweep surveys and continuous monitoring. It was a great learning experience and its highlight in 2024!
This year, Charlie has found new ways to look at data, update certifications and the tools we use. For him this has been a great learning experience but it has also really helped GGS and so we are very grateful for these developments
As Technical Director John has overseen lots of exciting projects and shared that he was grateful to learn more from the team and look at radon more in depth and applying this to client work. This year GGS has faced a few challenges on projects, but we have overcome them as a team.
Our Managing Director Simon shared final highlights this year including completing projects that have been decades in the making. He also expressed that he was grateful to welcome new projects that show the variety that GGS. We have also had record webinar attendance this year and Simon was happy to see this. As you can see it has been a very busy year for our team with lots of great highlights. We are grateful for the continued support of our clients and staff at GGS that made it another successful year.
