We are very excited to announce that GGS Managing Director, Simon Talbot, will be delivering ground gas training for The Australasian Land & Groundwater Association (ALGA). The training course, “Advanced A – Z Ground Gas Training”, will be held at various locations in Australia and New Zealand in March and April 2023.
The course will be informed by content sourced from “The A – Z of Ground Gas” training course, which is delivered across the UK. Focus will be given to the importance of data quality and the lines of evidence approach to risk assessment, development of gas management strategies, designing appropriate and proportionate solutions, and ensuring that validation of these measures.

Simon Talbot, a professional geologist who has been working in ground gas for over forty years, has a long history of delivering training in collaboration with ALGA. Simon said, “I’m delighted to be returning to Australia and New Zealand to deliver ground gas training. My last visit was in 2019, and a lot has changed since then in the world of geo-environmental engineering and contaminated land. I’m looking forward to sharing an updated perspective and new knowledge on ground gas hazards, monitoring techniques, and risk assessment.”
